About Out Coffee
In 1987 it was a relatively new concept in New Zealand to have a coffee that was espressed as opposed to spooning out of a jar or dripping some hot water over stale coffee grounds. Gosh we have come a long way.....
We started our search for our beans long before we developed our brand or bought any equipment.
First we had to find a roaster that had the passion and the flexibility that we needed to create our special blend.We found them in Christchurch and we are extremely proud of our coffee.
Izon is a small and dynamic roasting company that is fanatical about the quality and ethics of everything to do with coffee. Together we developed 'Velvet' our own blend.

We hope you enjoy our very special blend that has been tasted,spat out,talked about,spat out and eventually 'OK'd' by some very clever barista's and roasters.
So here we present ' VELVET ' our first roast that is certified FAIRTRADE and organic, roasted here in Christchurch once a week. we allow the required time for our coffee to reach its best. Like a wine maker we know when it has de-gassed and ready for you our very important customers.It is a clever combination of three regions that impart some of the unique characteristics that we hope you will love, just like us.
Subtle aroma: fruit, toast and nut. Very Full bodied, smooth mouthfeel and tight-knit, The flavours range from tart lemon to sweet cherry, with hints of caramel. Toasty sweetness in the finish turns toward cocoa in the long. Continued balanced complexity in milk, with distinct notes of cherry, nut and chocolate.
